The prospect of a lazy retirement was never a consideration for Rod Hamilton. After serving 18 years in the Minnesota State Legislature, Hamilton opted to not run for re-election this November, stepping away from politics. But Hamilton was determined to stay active. And, beginning last week, started his newest venture as director of the Mt. Lake Economic Development Authority. “I was sitting at home, thinking ‘What am I going to do?’ Hamilton said. “The EDA board posted the position and I was visiting with a board member. I said I wasn’t really interested in a full-time position because I have multiple sclerosis and need to focus on my health. I promised myself and my family I would do that.
