Ardis Louise Erickson

Ardis Louise Erickson, (Voge), 89 years of age of Concho, Arizona, died February 7th, 2025 from end stage dementia and stress from surgery to fix a broken hip. She was under hospice care, (Hospice of the Valley), in Mesa, Arizona.

Ardis is originally from Butterfield, Minnesota but moved back and forth several times throughout her life due to her husband’s construction work on both the Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona and the Coronado Generating Station in St. Johns, Arizona. Ardis and husband LeRoy, were some of the very first people to move into the new town of Page, Arizona in 1957. After LeRoy’s death in 2012, Ardis moved permanently to Concho, Arizona, where Ardis and LeRoy spent many winter months and to be closer to her daughters.

During Ardis’ life, she did everything from learning Braille so that she could type Sunday school lessons for the blind to becoming a registered nurse! In her fifties, Ardis attended Mankato State University and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with Honors, and upon graduating worked many years for an inpatient facility for handicapped adults in Madelia, Minnesota. Ardis was known for her gift in creating beautiful things, just too many to mention! She won hundreds of blue ribbons along with Best of Show awards from county fairs both in Minnesota and Arizona. But the best work she did was in having and raising a son and three daughters.

Ardis was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, LeRoy, her brothers; Ellery Voge and Sidney Voge, and her sister Carol Hanson along with her special sister (in law) Betty Fitzgarrald.

Ardis is survived by her son Mark Erickson of Backus, MN, and daughters; Betty L Jarrett, (John), of Show Low, AZ, Bambi Kilpatrick, (Ralph), of San Tan Valley, AZ and Sara Beatty, (Brian), of Mesa, AZ, five grandsons, one granddaughter, seven great grandsons and two great granddaughters and one great grandchild on the way!

Throughout Ardis’ life, she was an active member of the Faith Fellowship in Concho, Arizona and the Assembly of God church in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. She had daily conversations with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who she knew well. We know she lives!
