Elizabeth Anne Litfin, 84, Hutchinson, MN passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at United Hospital in St. Paul, following a 12/24/24 diagnosis of an aggressive form of ovarian cancer. Beth was born on November 2, 1940 in Henderson, MN to Henry and Lucille Griep of Arlington, MN. She was the oldest of six children and graduated from high school in 1958. She began her long career in the dairy industry by working for her Dad at the Arlington Creamery. In 1961, she married Dennis Litfin and they had two beautiful children, Krista and Matthew. The family lived in Gibbon, MN, eventually settling in Mountain Lake, MN in 1969 where, besides being a homemaker, Beth became involved in the community and was employed in the Lab at Land O’Lakes, and made many lifelong friends.
Following her divorce in 1987, Beth stayed in Mountain Lake until 1991 after Land O’Lakes closed. She then moved to the Twin Cities area where she attended North Hennepin Community College. She ultimately moved back to Arlington to help care for her elderly parents. In the late 1990’s, she continued her dairy career as a Lab Tech at Bongards Creameries, retiring at the age of 78. In 2003, she purchased a home in Hutchinson, MN where she resided until her death. Beth was known for her kindness, compassion and empathy. Qualities that made her a cherished friend and family member. Her favorite pasttime was keeping up with family and friends through Facebook, texting, phone calls, and visits. She had a love for the color yellow, dragonflies, and candles; and was always excited to cheer on the Minnesota Vikings.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Sandra Brazil and Barbara Panning, and nephew James Panning. She is survived by her children Krista Lentner and Matthew Litfin. She will forever be remembered and appreciated by her three grandchildren Alivia Boddie, Josefyne and John Lentner; and her precious great-grandchild, the one and only George Boddie, and an expected new great-grandchild in August.
Survived also by her brothers Thomas Griep (Frances), Steven Griep, and John Griep. “Auntie Beth’s” memory will also live on in her treasured nieces and nephews and other family members and dear friends who became like family.
