Dennis was born on April 25, 1948, the son of Charles and Ina (Kasten) Luetgers, in Alexandria, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm in Evansville, MN and graduated from Evansville High School in 1966. After graduation, Dennis attended Alexandria Technical College and earned his degree in Farm Machinery/Auto Sales and Management. Dennis married Doris Westrom on September 30, 1972 and they were happily married for 36 years. He worked in automobile and real estate sales for 48 years before retiring in Worthington, MN in 2014. He served in many community organizations over the years: Lion’s Club, Kiwanis, and Mountain Lake Pow Wow Committee. He was very active in several churches he attended over the years. Dennis enjoyed watching sports, collecting antique pedal cars, and keeping up with his grandchildren.
Dennis died on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Home in Windom, MN. He is survived by his children Darcie (Casey) Young of Broomfield, CO and Dixie (Troy) Duerksen of Mountain Lake, MN; grandchildren Tylor, Danielle, Treyton, Braden, and Ashton; three great-grandchildren; and one sibling Diane (Erick) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ina Luetgers; wife, Doris Luetgers; and brother, Gary Luetgers.
A private burial service for the family will be held in Evansville, MN.
