Dianne Kuecker

A Celebration of Life Service for Dianne Kuecker, age 79, of Windom, will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 12th at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, with Pastor Sarah Larsen Tade’ officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held Saturday from 9:30-11:30 AM at the church in Windom.

Arrangements are under the care of the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom. Condolences and memories of Dianne may be sent online to Dianne Kuecker, wife of Dr. Ron Kuecker, Windom, MN, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2022, at Heritage Pointe in Marshall, MN. Ron, Dan, and other family members had been with her for the past week. Scott and Julie were at her bedside when she quietly breathed her last.

Dianne had taken the long journey through dementia for the past 10 years. She was wonderfully cared for at Boulder Creek Memory Care and Heritage Pointe, in Marshall, Minnesota. She had remained in good physical health the entire time, but the slow process of mental decline could not be overcome.

Dianne Marie (Powell) Kuecker was born December 3, 1942, to the late Merlyn and Alta Mae (Erickson) Powell, in Marshall, MN. She grew up in Marshall and was baptized and confirmed at the Marshall Presbyterian Church. She attended and graduated from Marshall Public School. She went on to Abbot Nursing School to get her RN in 1965 and Macalester College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966.

On April 17, 1965, Dianne was united in marriage to Ronald Duane Kuecker. The marriage was blessed with three children, Scott, Tom, and Dan. Dianne worked as a nurse at Windom Medical Clinic and was a dedicated mom and wife. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and was known for her humility, intelligence, and quick-witted humor.

Dianne had many interests in life. She was a copious book reader and loved to play scrabble. She enjoyed flower gardening, spending time at the cabin, and her “Fat Girls” and birthday groups. Dianne was active in the community, serving on the Busy Bee board, Windom Hospital board, Windom Internet board and she was a computer trainer at Remick Ridge.

Left to cherish Dianne’s memory are her husband of 57 years, Ron Kuecker of Windom; three children, Scott (Julie) Kuecker of Marshall, Tom (Alissa) Kuecker of Nashville, TN, and Dan (Lisa) Kuecker of Charlottesville, VA; six grandchildren, Bensen, Anna Mae, Zoe, Max, Remington, and Caspian; siblings, David Powell of Marshall, MN, Bill (Frances) Powell of Menomonie, WI, Anita (Bill) Hess of Marshall, MN, Jim (Carole) Powell of Durham, NC; sister-in-law, Darlene Savercool from Lake Geneva, WI; as well as many relatives and friends.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Merlyn and Alta Mae Powell; Ron’s parents, Clarence and Ruby Kuecker; in-laws, Betty Powell, Shirley Bradley, Gerald Kuecker, and Gerald Savercool.
